Drop it MODERN is a company whose goal is to consistently usher in a wave of innovative products that will benefit the photography industry by being the most unique, the most inspiring, the most functional, and of course- the most MODERN. Drop it MODERN is made up of creative, passionate, and forward thinking individuals who are dedicated to creating inventive, efficient and modern products for the everyday photographer. While the luxurious damask backdrop is their flagship product, Drop it MODERN is quickly branching out and expanding their product line to include a diverse collection of items that practically meet a variety of needs had by today's photographers, with a MODERN edge.
Drop it MODERN started as a small business out of Breanne's garage in April of 2008 after attending her first WPPI tradeshow. Her goal at the show was to find ways of improving her studio photography set up, but to her surprise, when it came to in-studio gear ,the show had very little to offer a young, modern photographer such as herself. She knew that if her photography business were to succeed she had to do something unique to stand apart from crowd, and that was not going to happen with outdated backdrops and mediocre props. She realized it was time to take matters into her own hands, and that is exactly what she did. Breanne started by running down to the local fabric store and picking up printed fabrics to act as her backdrops. It was at this time that she discovered that photography backdrops weren't limited to standard painted muslins.
After a couple weeks of shooting with her new backdrops, it became very apparent that her idea to experiment with prints was catching on. Photographers began inquiring about where she'd found her unique backdrops, and her photography clients were raving about the fresh photos she was producing. Nevertheless, the sizes offered at local fabric stores were too narrow, and the materials were not consistent, so she decided to take it to the next level and begin making them herself.
Since 2008, drop it MODERN has moved out Breanne's house and now operates from a gorgeous office in Central California. Breanne has also added to her team 3 creatively savvy, organized and prized employees. Together they will continue to fulfill the photography industry's need for fresh, modern, and practical photography gear.

In this world there are movers, there are shakers, and then there are those who run circles around both of them. Breanne is such a dynamo. Prior to launching drop it MODERN in 2008, she established herself as an award-winning photographer, shooting weddings and portraits and establishing the Schaap brand in the photography world.

Kelli is the mommy to a precious daughter, Lilly, and son, Samuel, who keep her belly laughing and humble. She loves the early mornings with a fresh baked muffin and hot coffee and evenings playing in her succulent garden. In between the two, her perfect afternoon would include lounging by the pool reading a Domino Mag (RIP), a bottomless Dr Pepper in a styrofoam cup with crushed ice and a Ray LaMontagne Pandora playlist. Away from home she looks forward to the occasional ladies night out filled with girl talk, a cocktail, and bread pudding. Truly, she loves anything beautiful, hilarious, and honest. Kelli loves to love and be loved, and is thankful for a life of Grace courtesy of Her Father in Heaven.

The backbone of the drop it MODERN family, David is the definition of a team player. He's the big brother of DIM, a role he knows well being from a family with 8 sisters and 3 brothers. Don't be fooled by this big teddy bear of a man. Just ask him about his beautiful little daughter and see this stone giant crumble into a teary- eyed puddle. David has been with drop it MODERN since its original launch, loving every minute of the ride. David loves spending time with family, whether his own at home or the drop it MODERN family at work.
